Position Summary The Assistant Director of Marketing will play an integral role in driving revenue and attendance for the Department of Athletics. Along with the marketing, sales, and communications staff, this individual will assist in increasing attendance, creating a positive and exciting game day atmosphere, increasing fan engagement, and furthering the brand of Rice Athletics.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
One year of related experience (Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis)
Preferences
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
Master’s degree in a related field
Essential Functions
Develop the communication and brand strategy for individual program(s)
Write, design, and coordinate the production of communication and marketing materials
Recommend integrated marketing plans/programs and strategies to meet business objectives
Guide event planning and execution as needed to support marketing objectives
Assist in vendor management on specific projects
Conduct market research and analysis used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation, and customer targeting
Assess market opportunities and track market trends
Recommend marketing improvements based on findings
Perform all other duties as assigned
