Description The National Partnership for Women & Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that fights for equity for all women and families. We advocate on the Hill and for federal, state, and local policy on issues such as equal pay, paid leave, and affordable reproductive health care, including abortion access.

Position Overview The full‑time Research Manager will support the organization’s research capacity to advance an inclusive economy. The role involves quantitative and qualitative research related to economic and health justice, keeping abreast of federal data releases, updating fact sheets, and meeting the data analysis needs of the organization.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Prepare advanced, complex descriptive statistical analyses of public datasets and create data visuals.

Coordinate and support qualitative research, including interviews and focus groups.

Draft and fact‑check written products for publication, including reports, briefing papers, fact sheets, and blog posts.

Monitor relevant news, research, and policy on topics such as paid leave and abortion access to keep research current.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree with 3‑5 years of experience in economics, sociology, public policy, or political science.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

High attention to detail in analysis, written documents, and support of meetings and events.

Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience with multivariate statistical methods, survey research, and qualitative research design and analysis.

Curiosity about research, information‑gathering, and evaluating quality.

Familiarity with a statistical analysis package (e.g., Stata, R) and experience with data coding, management, and querying.

Experience accessing, managing, and analyzing a variety of quantitative data (survey, administrative).

Strong interest in and passion for the organization’s mission and economic and health justice issues.

Comfortable working as part of a team and in a collaborative environment.

Experience integrating racial and gender justice concepts, intersectional frameworks, and committing to centering them in work projects and interactions.

Supervisory Responsibility None

Classification Position is included in the National Partnership United bargaining unit and subject to collective bargaining. The first six months of employment are a probationary period.

Salary And Benefits Salary range: $71,617 – $87,824, adjusted for experience. Benefits include paid time off, paid federal holidays, office closures, comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, retirement options (403(b), SEP‑IRA), flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, paid family and medical leave, and more.

Employment and Workplace Details Full‑time DC‑based position with a hybrid schedule; at least four days in‑office per month, with additional in‑office days as needed.

Office and Team Culture Staffing exceeds 50; culture is collaborative and collegial. The organization requires all employees to be fully vaccinated and up‑to‑date on COVID‑19 vaccines, except where a medical or sincerely held religious exemption is granted.
