Overview Purpose Statement/Position Summary: This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the managed care policies, goals, and objectives related to contract language, pricing and negotiation strategy, planning and execution, revenue reconciliation as applicable, and payor relationship management on behalf of CHLA, CHLA Medical Group, CHLA Health Network and their subsidiaries.

The director will support CHLA Medical Group leadership in working with Physician Organizations in the market regarding managed care contracts, strategies for improving market share and opportunities to collaborate and build relationships with payors.

The role also requires collaboration and communication between Enterprise Contracting and other key stakeholder departments within CHLA and CHLA Medical Group, working closely with Decision Support, Patient Financial Services, CHLA, CHLA Medical Group, CHLA Health Network and Pediatric Management Group leadership, clinical departments, HIM, CDM, Admitting and Revenue Cycle leaders.

May have direct oversight of staff which may additionally include LOAs, CHLAMG coverage agreements and leases.

This position is based in Glendale, California, and will require travel approximately 4‑5 times a month to other hospital/medical group/payer offices.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience Required (10+ years of experience with progressive responsibility in the healthcare environment and 7 years of experience in a managed care position with demonstrated competencies or an equivalent combination of experience and education).

Preferred (14+ years of experience with progressive responsibility in the healthcare environment and 10 years of experience in a managed care position with demonstrated competencies or an equivalent combination of experience and education).

Education / Licensure / Certification Required: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Health or related field.

Preferred: Master’s degree.

Pay Scale Information 122,595.00 – 210,163.00 USD

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
