Network Engineer
Key Role Support the government client’s security operations mission. Perform the deployment, operation, administration, troubleshooting, updating, securing, and maintenance of systems, software, and infrastructure that enable enterprise cybersecurity capabilities. Operate, maintain, and administer existing network and systems architectures, including hardware, software, physical cabling, and IP address management. Support a broad range of technical environments and responsibilities, including networking and security devices, circuits, automated systems, servers, client computers, applications, databases, voice systems, helpdesk support, asset and inventory management, and field technical support.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of experience with IT network administration, including managing and supporting network infrastructure such as firewalls, routers, switches, LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks
Experience in RADIUS, TACACS+, and 802.1x utilizing Cisco Identity Services Engine, or using industry common security tools such as Gigamon, Palo Alto Firewalls, or Cisco Secure Network Analytics
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, cloud security technologies, developing and implementing security policies and procedures, and Palo Alto Prisma
Ability to participate in the implementation, planning, and execution of IT network solution projects and upgrades which align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives
Ability to monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure minimal downtime, identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement, optimize throughput and performance or network configurations, and implement quality of service (QoS) policies to ensure efficient data flow
Ability to perform regular network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and hardware replacements
Ability to provide technical support to resolve network issues and outages promptly
Ability to support and troubleshoot new or existing network security measures

Bachelor’s degree in a CS or Information Systems field
Additional Qualifications
Experience with Federal Security Operations Center capabilities
Experience responding to security incidents and taking appropriate action to contain and remediate the issues
Knowledge of cyber threats, tools, techniques, and processes
Knowledge of security hardening framework standards and regulations from internet security, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53 Revision 5, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Ability to conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, developers, and security professionals, to support IT projects and initiatives
Ability to monitor and analyze network traffic for suspicious activity
Ability to document and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Possession of excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills, to work independently or as part of a team
Cisco Certification such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification

Compensation BAU provides comprehensive benefits including health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
