Weyerhaeuser’s Wood Products Supply Chain organization is seeking a motivated and proven supply chain leader to join our team as a Logistics Director in Seattle, WA. This valued and strategic role contributes to our supply chain success by collaborating daily across our Supply Chain and leading our Logistics team.
The role is responsible for supporting all Weyerhaeuser Wood Products operations, with primary responsibility for locations in the Western US and Canada. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, the Logistics Director will build and maintain strong relationships with transportation suppliers, lead proactive communication, rate negotiation, and contract management. Additionally, this role involves developing and executing strategic and tactical initiatives in collaboration with sales, operations, and logistics teams to meet business objectives.

Lead contract negotiations for rail and truck carriers, ensuring optimal terms and strong supplier partnerships.

Conduct cost analysis and provide cost information to sales and finance.
Troubleshoot and resolve logistics issues with a customer centric approach.
Communication and Influence
Share and synthesize information with team members and appropriate stakeholders.
Tailor communication style and content to different audiences.
Leverage networks to share information, influence decisions and guide outcomes.

Direct responsibility for rail and truck contract negotiations
Demonstrated people leadership and strategic planning experience, with a collaborative and inclusive style that includes hiring, training, and mentoring teams.
Transportation industry knowledge by mode, including safety requirements, laws, and regulations.
Curiosity and aptitude for technology, automation, and entry-level AI concepts.
Proven ability to quickly identify issues, develop effective solutions, and implement them in a dynamic logistics environment.
Desired Skills / Qualifications
Advanced Data Analytics: Experience leveraging analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to drive insights and support decision-making in logistics.
Process Improvement Certification: Six Sigma, LEAN, or similar certification.
Vendor Management: Strong track record in managing and developing supplier relationships beyond contract negotiation.
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, with the ability to leverage these tools to optimize logistics processes, enhance data accuracy, and support informed decision-making.
Compensation Eligible for annual merit-increase program. Salary range: $129,145–$193,858. Eligibility for Annual Incentive Program with target bonus 20% of base pay; potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
