We're seeking a
Workday Financials Architect
to provide client‑side functional and technical expertise during the post‑implementation phase of a large Workday Financials program. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and the implementation partner to troubleshoot complex issues, validate configurations, and ensure the Workday Financials solution meets organizational and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a
client‑side Workday Financials subject matter expert , partnering with finance, IT, and the implementation team to resolve design challenges and validate configurations.
Review, assess, and recommend improvements across key Financials modules, including:
Procurement and Supplier Accounts
Accounts Payable / Receivable
General Ledger (chart of accounts, journals, and close processes)
Grants and Projects
Business Assets and Expenses
Evaluate and help resolve complex functional and configuration issues.
Support financial data validation, integrations, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Participate in testing, issue triage, and cutover/post go‑live stabilization.
Provide guidance on security setup, reporting, and workflow alignment within Financials.
Serve as a liaison between finance, technology, and the system integrator to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
Document configuration decisions, enhancements, and recommendations for governance and audit readiness.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of hands‑on Workday Financials experience in functional or solution architecture roles.
Strong expertise in Procurement, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger; familiarity with Grants, Projects, or Business Assets a plus.
Experience supporting post‑implementation or stabilization phases of Workday programs.
Background in public sector or enterprise‑level financial systems preferred.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
Prior experience collaborating with external system integrators.
Workday Financials certification or Workday Pro credentials preferred.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of encumbrance accounting, budget control, or grant funding frameworks.
Familiarity with Workday reporting tools, including custom reports and calculated fields.
Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
