Physician – Cardiologist at Community Health Centers of America in Sacramento, CA. Job Description
Work in family practice clinics; responsible for diagnosing and treating patients for acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting. Responsibilities
Obtain, analyze, and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses. Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries. Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. Prescribe medications. Educate patients about self‑management of acute or chronic illnesses. Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests. Maintain complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses. Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions. Perform follow‑up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care. Perform cardiological physical examinations. Supervise or coordinate patient care or support staff activities. Maintain current knowledge of state legal regulations for physician practice. Keep abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems. Obtain health information from patients. Perform physical examinations and assess any medical problems. Practice safe and healthy control methods while working with patients. Educate patients and families concerning medical treatments, medications, etc. Administer or order diagnostic tests such as x‑ray, electrocardiograms, and lab tests. Interpret test results to diagnose any related health issues. Counsel patients about compliance with medication. Assist in pre‑operation or post‑operation care. Coordinate activities of patient care. Document patient progress with medication or treatment. Collaborate with other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, including healthcare professional staff to form a high‑performing medical team. Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures. Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment. Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol. Respect cultural and religious practices of minor patients. Uphold HIPAA regulations. Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts. Must possess a degree in medicine and a valid license from the California Medical Board. Experience: 3‑5 years of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Appropriate certifications and/or licensures. Current BLS/ACLS required. Current DEA required. In‑depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices. Skills
