Position Description WebSphere administrator responsible for leading and/or working on the most complex IT applications design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation and support of new or existing applications software. Responsible for planning, installing, configuring, testing, implementing, and managing a systems environment that supports the organization’s IT architecture and business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing and developing application architecture, writing, debugging, and maintaining code.

Planning and implementing system architecture, installing and configuring WebSphere Application Server.

Integrating hardware and software components, monitoring and fine‑tuning system performance.

Ensuring compliance with information security and assurance policies.

Collaborating with customers to test applications and ensure quality and functionality.

Skills Required

Knowledge and experience in application software development principles and methods, operating systems installation and configuration procedures.

Understanding of software design principles, database management principles, infrastructure requirements, and system engineering concepts.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to prepare effective reports.

Preferred Skills

Senior level experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and Master Data Management Administration.

Scripting and programming in Azure DevOps, GitHub/Jenkins/Ansible/Shell, Perl/Python.

Linux administration and security operations such as vulnerability scanning, patching, antivirus.

Experience with middleware such as Apache, SSH, JBoss.

Monitoring, troubleshooting application server configuration and performance.

File system administration on application servers.

Experience and Education Minimum seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming; at least four (4) years in a lead capacity. Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field (qualifying experience may substitute). Contractor must be flexible for telework and onsite work per company COVID telework policy.
