Base pay range $55,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Role Overview As a Senior Backend Engineer at Lumenalta, you will design and implement robust backend systems, ensuring our applications are secure, scalable, and efficient. You will work closely with DevOps and frontend teams to deliver high-performance applications that leverage AWS cloud services and Kubernetes. Your responsibilities also include managing infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CDK and monitoring systems with tools like Grafana and Loki. We’re looking for someone passionate about backend development, cloud infrastructure, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Python and integrate with cloud services on AWS.

Design and deploy AWS infrastructure, leveraging services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3 with a focus on scalability and security.

Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring proper scaling, load balancing, and orchestration.

Automate infrastructure management with Terraform or AWS CDK to deliver repeatable and efficient resource provisioning.

Implement monitoring and logging solutions using Grafana and Loki to maintain system reliability and performance.

Collaborate with DevOps, frontend, and product teams to deliver cohesive, scalable, and secure applications.

Automate workflows and improve infrastructure and application performance for low-latency, high-availability systems.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of backend development experience, ideally focused on cloud-native applications.

Proficiency in Python for backend services and scripting.

Extensive experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).

Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana and Loki.

Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or AWS CDK).

Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.

Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native applications.

Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.

Salary Salary range: $55,000 - $100,000 annually, with final compensation determined by your qualifications, expertise, experience, and the role’s scope.

Location This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be based in regions that align with the Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.
