Base pay range: $350,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr
Summary Position eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) up to $200,000 over a 1‑5 year period. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria and submit an application within four months of appointment. Approval is by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after a full review.
Qualifications Applicants must meet the basic requirements listed below and any additional requirements specified in the announcement. Current VA physicians who met previous qualification standards at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to meet basic requirements.
Basic Requirements
United States citizenship; non‑citizens may only be appointed when no qualified citizen is available.
Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from a VA‑approved medical school.
Current, full and unrestricted state or territorial license to practice medicine or surgery.
Completion of residency training approved by VA in an accredited core specialty that leads to board certification.
When faculty status is required, board certification must be obtained. Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) must hold a full license and may be appointed on an intermittent basis.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Interventional Radiology Fellowship reference available at https://www.va.gov/ohrm/QualificationStandards/.
Physical capability required for performing radiology duties.
Responsibilities
Provide diagnostic and interventional radiology services with the highest quality and safety standards.
Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and oversight of technical quality.
Educate staff and trainees, give presentations, and develop protocol standards.
Collaborate with emergency, subspecialty services, and other clinical teams to coordinate patient care.
Cover on‑call rotations and deliver timely reporting of significant results.
Engage in medical staff functions, committees, and tumor boards.
Support academic affiliations and teaching programs within the imaging service.
Adhere to the schedule Monday‑Friday 7:30 AM‑4:00 PM, with potential evening, weekend, and on‑call duties.
