Base pay range $240,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Qualifications To qualify for this position - you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.

Basic Requirements

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy

Doctor of Medicine or the equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine

Degree obtained from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year of completion

Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia

Residency training completed in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification (ACGME, AOA, or alternate US residency with ≥5 years of practice)

Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs and who meet the basic requirements may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs)

PRPs must have a full license (not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee‑basis; they are not independent practitioners or privileged, and have a limited scope of practice

Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred: Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Physical Requirements: Light lifting (≤15 lb), walking 4‑8 hrs, standing 4‑8 hrs, near vision correctable at 13‑16″ to Jaeger 1‑4, far vision 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other, hearing (aid permitted)

Duties

Manage medical care for a panel of Veterans enrolled in Primary Care

Timely entry and use of the electronic medical record system for documentation, workload capture, alert management, and review of Veterans’ current and future medical care needs

Lead the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT)

Cross‑cover for other medical providers as needed throughout the health care system

Collaborate with PACT members to ensure overall safety and quality of each Veteran’s care

Responsible for performance metrics related to patient quality of care and positive customer service

Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance, continuous survey readiness, and committee/work groups

Maintain licensures, certifications, and credentials necessary for privileges at the OKC VAHCS

Meet ethical and professional standards as written in the Medical Staff Bylaws and ensure work relations comply with facility standards and expectations
