Pool Lecturer - Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (Pool)
Working Title: Pool Lecturer - Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Position Type: Faculty/Instructional Division/College: College of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities Description of College/Department/Program/Division/Unit: The College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CASSH) includes departments and programs in the humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary studies, as well as departments in the School of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA). CASSH/VPA is dedicated to providing quality innovative instruction and creative learning experiences which prepare students for future careers and education. Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the department chair, a person in this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. This includes preparing for and holding classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online), maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The workload may also involve advising students and/or providing other services to the department. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean. Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree (except in rare circumstances where post-baccalaureate certification or licensure or a baccalaureate plus experience can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position). All persons hired for Academic Instruction will be required to submit all of their official copies of their transcripts to Human Resources upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degrees are preferred. Additional criteria considered upon review of applicants include relevant teaching experience and/or professional experience germane to the course content and commitment to quality instruction.
