Fiber Optic Technician – Ribbon Splicer (Abilene, TX)

Designing and Delivering Data Center Infrastructure Solutions We’re seeking skilled Ribbon Splicers with experience in high-count fiber work for a major telecom project in Abilene, Texas.

Responsibilities

Perform ribbon fusion splicing (12–48 fibers) using Fujikura, Sumitomo, or AFL equipment

Prepare, clean, cleave, and organize fibers with precision

Conduct OTDR and power meter testing, analyze and document results

Install, dress, and manage ribbon cables in enclosures and panels

Maintain proper safety and quality standards on-site

Requirements

Proven experience in ribbon splicing and fiber installation

Knowledge of TIA/EIA color codes and industry best practices

Ability to work in outdoor or confined environments

Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills

Preferred Certifications

FOA CFOS/S – Specialist in Splicing

OSHA 10/30 – Safety certification
