We have openings for
multiple DevOps Engineers
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Eastern Region Software and Controls organization of Northrop Grumman Space Sector. This position will be in
Dulles, VA . The work will primarily be performed in a SCIF environment, so onsite work is required. Top-Secret clearance required at time of application.
Job Responsibilities
Automate cloud native technologies, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
Document procedures used during deployment cycles
Support software teams directly on nightly test and pre-release pipelines, focusing on deployment and software integration
Work with the fellow DevOps team and play a mentoring role to cross-train and grow technical talent across the DevOps team and assist in troubleshooting tasks
Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices
Qualifications To be considered for this role you need to have:
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times and shifting priorities
Proven troubleshooting skills and willingness to take on unfamiliar challenges
Worked with Factory-in-a-box in both an implementation and sustainment role
Worked with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab integrations, build tools, and tool chains
A strong background in Linux operating system
Kubernetes cluster experience from both a configuration and utilization perspective as well as infrastructure best practice integration and implementation
Experience with AWS, Ansible, GitLab are helpful adjacent technologies
Basic Qualifications Principal DevOps Engineer
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (ideally Computer Science or Engineering) and 5 years of experience; OR a master’s degree and 3 years; OR a PhD and 1 year of experience (outside of internships, research projects, etc.). Experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
3+ year(s) of
DevOps or software development
experience
3+ years in a technical leadership role managing technical objectives and Jira metrics reporting
U.S. citizenship with current or active Top-Secret clearance required at time of application

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
