Network Engineer

Responsibilities As a Network Engineer on our team, you will:

Work with the Program Management Office to provide network architecture design and system operational support to other systems

Establish requirements, develop and evaluate technical solutions and architecture designs, and perform solutions analyses

Analyze the design of an enterprise migration and implementation plan for data centers, remote access connections, cross‑domain solutions, network ports, protocols, and services configurations while meeting current network requirements

Provide Tier‑III network support while monitoring all operational communications systems and circuits, direct troubleshooting, and restoring all actions for unscheduled outages

Analyze network activity and performance to identify potential network issues and inefficiencies, and develop and implement automated configuration management software solutions, including software‑defined wide‑area networking and Whitebox networking solutions

Collaborate with SMEs in cybersecurity, engineering, quality assurance, and operations to learn strategic goals and operational needs that shape network requirements

Participate in planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components, and support hardware acquisition

You Have

5+ years of experience with hands‑on configuration of network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls

Experience delivering network engineering artifacts such as network templates, configuration guides, and network diagrams

Knowledge of L2‑L4 networking protocols

Ability to travel to OCONUS locations up to 30% of the time

Secret clearance

HS diploma or GED

Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Certification such as CCNA or CCNP

Nice If You Have

Experience with Navy Enterprise Networks such as NMCI, NGEN, ONE‑Net, or CANES

Experience with software‑defined networking

Experience with network automation

Experience in Network Access Control solutions such as Forescout or Cisco ISE

Experience with networking tools, including SolarWinds

Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.

Work Model

If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you'll periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility.
