Overview
As a member of the KM and Innovation Department, the Practice Innovation Lead will anticipate, identify, and implement innovative legal technology solutions within the Firm. The role combines practice of law, technology, knowledge management, business analysis, process improvement, and project management to provide solutions that enhance the client experience. Base pay
$100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Monitor daily intake queue for the Practice Innovation and Legal Solutions Team (PILS) requests, ensuring timely response and resolution. Ensure project plans, task lists, and documentation are consistently updated and maintained on a daily and weekly basis (using Smartsheet or other designated tools). Proactively identify issues or bottlenecks and escalate to Team Leadership when necessary. Track usage, adoption, and performance metrics of solutions/sites to evaluate impact and guide improvements. Actively participate in marketing innovation services by attending department and practice group meetings. Identify and address attorney pain points through technology and process improvements. Develop and maintain model documents, templates, and checklists for practice innovation solutions. Work with the team to develop training materials and assist with onboarding efforts to support adoption. Promote awareness and adoption of legal innovation tools and practices. Gather and prioritize solution requirements from attorneys and/or clients. Work with attorneys and clients to document requirements and build/refine practice innovation solutions. Design and build solutions using KM platforms (e.g., SharePoint Online, PowerApps, and document automation tools). Provide ongoing support for deployed solutions and serve as a resource for troubleshooting and enhancements. Provide planned, ad hoc, and just-in-time training on KM tools. Monitor legal tech trends and advise leadership on emerging tools and best practices. In conjunction with Team Leadership, conduct gap analyses and draft business cases for new technologies. Review, research, and analyze innovation tools under consideration for purchase. Provide criteria (e.g., functionality) to analyze KM and innovation tools and make recommendations. Support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. Prepare reports and presentations for KM leadership. Display the highest level of professionalism and customer service/support. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, accessible manner to legal professionals and clients. Represent the Practice Innovation & Legal Solutions team in meetings and presentations. Participate in special projects as assigned and substitute for other staff members as needed. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, required. Practicing J.D., Masters or equivalent legal industry experience strongly preferred. 4-8 years in the legal industry. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of KM, process improvement, and legal project management. Strong business analysis skills and the ability to analyze information and think systematically. Passion for legal technology and technical platforms and their impact on the practice of law. Understanding of user interface and user experience design. Familiarity with multiple areas of law — jurisdictional and topical. Additional Skills
With minimal supervision, initiative and judgment to make decisions within authority. Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines and work with attorneys, admin departments, and clients. Intellectual curiosity and commitment to quality. Accountability for completion of all aspects of projects and follow-up. Ability to maintain confidentiality in the legal environment. Understanding of KM Teams and project scope. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to translate findings into timely decisions and actions. High proficiency in communicating complex concepts to non-technical users; training capability on KM tools. KM Competencies

The salary range applies to various locations and reflects factors such as experience, education, location, and market demands. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000 to $120,000.
