Company Overview

HireNexus is partnering with a private equity–backed, rapidly growing multi-unit retail and services organization headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company operates more than 500 locations nationwide. Growth is driven primarily through frequent acquisitions of small businesses. The culture is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and people-first—a close-knit environment where energy, accountability, and performance are valued. The company moves quickly, emphasizes collaboration, and invests in strong leadership to support its expansion strategy. Position Summary

The Vice President of IT Operations is a newly created, high-impact leadership role responsible for driving infrastructure scalability, process automation, and service excellence across a growing national footprint. This position will serve as the first dedicated leader over the company’s IT operations group. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic vision and hands-on leadership, capable of guiding the organization through rapid integration while maintaining high-touch, white-glove support for acquired brands and business owners. Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership across IT infrastructure, networking, telecom, clinical technology, and cybersecurity. Lead a team of 30 professionals within a 54-person IT department, including three Directors (Infrastructure & Ops, Clinical Technology, and Information Security) and a Telecom Manager. Collaborate with recently acquired businesses to ensure seamless technology integration while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and effective communication. Drive enterprise-wide standardization of PCs, networks, and hardware, with a focus on leveraging Cisco-based solutions. Oversee ITSM practices—incident, problem, and change management—to support business operations from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST. Partner with InfoSec leadership and leverage tools like CrowdStrike to ensure robust data security and regulatory compliance. Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement—enhancing efficiency without expanding the team or relying on external outsourcing. Develop leadership capability across Directors and Managers; promote accountability, career growth, and team engagement. Manage IT operating budgets and lead vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service delivery. Align IT initiatives with business goals in close collaboration with senior executives, particularly in support of M&A activities. Champion a people-first culture through transparent, empathetic, and results-driven leadership. Leadership Profile

Inspiring, team-oriented leader who cultivates talent and motivates through vision and support. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across all levels of the business. Background in multi-site, multi-state environments such as retail, franchising, hospitality, or consumer services (healthcare experience not preferred). Demonstrated success scaling IT operations in high-growth or private equity-backed organizations. Balances high-touch service expectations with scalable, cost-effective technology solutions. Both strategic and hands-on—supports Directors in leadership and empowers Managers to deliver execution. Emotionally intelligent, collaborative, and humble; avoids ego-driven decision-making. Comfortable navigating dynamic, fast-paced environments driven by growth, acquisitions, and ongoing transformation. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required. 8 years of progressive IT leadership experience spanning infrastructure, operations, and/or cybersecurity. At least 5 years in a structured or regulated setting, ideally in a distributed enterprise environment. Proven track record managing teams of 20 across multiple locations or business units. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, network administration, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and modern security practices. Hands-on experience with Cisco solutions, ITSM frameworks, and enterprise cloud technologies. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and vendor contracts. Outstanding organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Work Environment

Hybrid work schedule: Four days onsite per week (Monday and Thursday required; other two days flexible). Occasional travel may be required to support regional teams and acquisition activities. Office-based role in a collaborative, energetic environment that emphasizes performance, culture, and connection.
