Senior Quality Engineer Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join their client's team in Scotts Valley, CA. This role is vital in enhancing and maintaining high-quality standards across internal operations and strategic supplier relationships. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, customers, and suppliers. The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control systems, identifying risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving improvements to deliver high-quality products and services.
Responsibilities
Create and implement robust quality standards aligned with industry requirements and company objectives.
Design, implement, and continuously improve quality control systems for materials, equipment, processes, and products.
Conduct inspections and testing to ensure all specifications and safety regulations are met.
Collaborate with operations managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to identify and implement effective quality control measures and process improvements.
Engage with suppliers to monitor, evaluate, and improve their quality performance, managing resolution of quality-related issues and corrective actions for defective parts.
Track and report supplier performance using key metrics, ensuring compliance with quality expectations and industry standards.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and quality enhancements internally and at suppliers.
Troubleshoot quality issues and provide actionable solutions to resolve complex product or production problems.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain to ensure minimal disruption to quality, on-time delivery, and product reliability.
Provide guidance to junior quality engineers and team members on quality standards, systems, and processes.
Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in high-tech or semiconductor industries.
Experience with Contract Manufacturers is a plus.
Strong proficiency in statistical tools such as Minitab, WinSCP, JMP, and SPC analysis.
Familiarity with process qualification, Gage R&R studies, and capability studies.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams to effective solutions.
Analytical skills, including experience with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D and FMEA.
Extensive experience in supplier relationship management.
Knowledge of semiconductor processes and industry-specific standards is highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with various levels of the organization and external partners.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education A technical degree in a STEM field is required. A Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
Certifications ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, etc.) is preferred. Proficiency in Value Stream Mapping and Visio is also preferred.
Required Work Hours Monday to Friday, 1st shift.
Profit Sharing Salary Range:
$130,000 - $150,000 per year
