Deputy Director for Planning (City of Somerville)
The City of Somerville is seeking a
Deputy Director for the Planning, Preservation, and Zoning Department
in the Office of Strategic Planning & Community Development (OSPCD). This full-time and benefited position will supervise day‑to‑day administrative operations and procedures while assisting the Director with oversight of the core functions of the division. Responsibilities: Supervise administrative operations and procedures in the PPZ division Assist the Director in overseeing the core functions of the division Prioritize workloads, multitask, and meet deadlines in a team‑based project environment Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, city or urban planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, urban design, or a related field Master’s degree preferred with seven (7) years of professional experience AICP certification preferred Experience in personnel management and demonstration of team‑based project management Compensation and Benefits:
