Role Purpose The Associate Director, Retail Media will establish and lead Unilever Retail Media function and bring together shopper marketing, retail media, and commerce activation into a single, future‑fit capability. The role will ensure integrated brand storytelling across retailers, optimize investment across retail and shopper levers, and deliver measurable growth.

Main Responsibilities

Define the holistic Retail Marketing strategy that aligns brand equity, retailer priorities, and consumer/shopper needs.

Lead joint planning across shopper and retail media, ensuring consistency with national media and Amazon performance.

Oversee development of retailer‑ready creative assets, in‑store activations, and retail media campaigns that drive conversion.

Establish a clear measurement framework for retail marketing with emphasis on incrementality and closed‑loop learning.

Partner with Brand, Sales, Media, and E‑Commerce to drive aligned retail marketing plans and maximize investment impact.

Build and coach a high‑performing team; design ways of working that balance agility with operational rigor.

Pilot new retail marketing approaches (emerging media networks, personalization, creative automation) and scale successful initiatives.

Experiences & Qualifications

8–12+ years of experience in retail marketing, shopper marketing, media, or e‑commerce.

Proven success integrating shopper and retail media investments.

Strong commercial acumen and experience working closely with Sales and Retailer partners.

Comfort with measurement systems (MMM, incrementality testing, retail media reporting).

Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Strategic mindset with hands‑on execution ability – able to both architect systems and run them.

What We Offer Unilever offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, paid vacation, holidays, and a range of voluntary benefits. The pay range for this position is $141,680 to $212,520. The role is bonus eligible and LTI eligible.
