New Mexico Donor Services is the designated organ procurement organization (OPO) for the state of New Mexico – and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family. For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities. DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our performance is measured by the way we serve donor families and recipients. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the development and implementation of strategic hospital plans to facilitate growth in the organ and tissue donation.
Evaluate activities against established strategic hospital plans. Work in collaboration with hospitals’ QAPI departments to ensure hospital performance.
Conduct in‑person meetings with key hospital personnel to establish rapport and identify potential problems. Resolve concerns related to the provision of service with the hospital. Partner with location Clinical Directors and Executive Directors to investigate missed referrals.
Prepare, distribute, and analyze hospital surveys. Track and analyze both donor and referral patterns.
Oversee the development and maintenance of Hospital Development policies and procedures. Lead organizational regulatory compliance with CMS and AOPO with regards to all aspects of Hospital Development.
Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and training of employees. Evaluate employee performance through dashboards and meeting strategic hospital goals.
Develop employees to present findings to all levels of hospital personnel. Provide coaching, counseling, and education as necessary.
Regularly audit hospital documentation activities entered by staff in iTransplant and presentation material.
Communicate and work collaboratively with other DCIDS/OPO departments to identify and improve donation processes within hospitals, Medical Examiners and Corner Offices. Actively participate in AOPO Hospital Development Council.
Lead the Hospital Development Affinity Group. Escalate feedback and ideas to senior leadership as appropriate.
Act as a role model for DCIDS by supporting, reinforcing, and exhibiting behaviors consistent with the DCIDS core values, which are selfless, hardworking, passionate, and dependable.
Other special projects and duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
RN or BA/BS in Health or Business‑related field preferred.
Occupational experience related to cultivating relationships and creating buy‑in within a healthcare setting.
OPO experience preferred.
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
Exceptional teamwork, communication, and conflict management skills.
Valid Driver’s license with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
