Job Overview Siemens is looking for a Solution Engineer to join their growing team. The candidate will be responsible for two areas of Digital Electrical Solutions that involve the integration of hardware and software for Electrical Power Monitoring and the setup and commissioning of Sm@rtGear electrical apparatus. The role provides customers with the ability to monitor their electrical consumption and costs as well as the use of Sm@rtGear technology that allows remote monitoring, configuration, and control of electrical apparatus.
Responsibilities
Implements hardware and software for energy management/monitoring solutions and Sm@rtGear
Understands and applies safety procedures
Follows basic standard project documentation for project completion
Identifies problems as they occur and takes proactive steps to solve them
Independently performs basic tasks and functions for professional field work
Prepare explanations to enable proper interpretation/evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics, or other technical data

2+ years of prior professional experience in Electrical Engineering or Computer Information Systems
Experience with serial communications (RS 485) and conversions to TCP/IP
Experience with Modbus, Profibus, OPC
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Information Systems
Network, communication protocols, and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge and experience with multiple operating systems including servers
TIA Portal Experience
Must possess the ability to travel 80%
Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently as well as work with other groups or teams
In depth PLC programming experience
Knowledge and experience using WinPM.Net, Power Monitoring Expert, PowerScada, PowerXpert, etc.
In depth experience with Utilities, Metering, and/or Networking (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
Time and task management skills (e.g., Project Manager, Project Engineer)
SQL Database experience (Creating Queries, Data Manipulation)
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience reading schematics and one lines
