Overview
We are seeking a technically proficient and strategically minded leader to lead our Cyber Threat Mitigation Analyst team. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional who thrives on solving complex security challenges and is ready to lead a team of analysts focused on reducing risk across infrastructure, cloud, custom development, and M&A environments. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, and must be adept at operating within a matrixed management structure. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Strategy Lead and mentor a team of Cyber Threat Mitigation Analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Define team objectives and align mitigation efforts with broader cybersecurity and enterprise risk strategies. Oversee workload distribution, performance management, and career development for team members. Direct line manager for the Cyber Threat Mitigation Analysts. Technical Oversight Provide hands-on guidance in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security threats across diverse technology ecosystems. Serve as a technical escalation point for complex remediation efforts, including vulnerability management, threat modeling, and incident response. Ensure integration of security standard processes into the technology lifecycle. Perform threat and risk triage to ensure appropriate treatment. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with engineering, infrastructure, application, and M&A threat leads to drive secure design and remediation initiatives. Collaborate with cyber teams to ensure alignment with threat priorities, regulatory and internal standards. Represent the Threat Mitigation team in leadership forums and technical working groups. Operate effectively within a matrixed management structure, influencing without direct authority and aligning priorities across multiple business and technical stakeholders. Execution & Reporting Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to threat reduction, tool adoption, and risk burndown. Lead the execution of mitigation campaigns, including tool deployments and hardening initiatives. Contribute to the development and refinement of threat mitigation playbooks and standard operating procedures. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a leadership or technical lead role. Technical experience in one or more domains: cloud security, infrastructure security, secure software development, or incident response. Additional Skills/Preferences
Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell). Demonstrated success working in a matrixed organization, with strong influencing and negotiation skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Additional Information
