Physics World
Overview
Professor Ian Low’s group at Northwestern University invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics, to begin in Fall 2026. We welcome candidates with expertise in quantum field theory, particle and nuclear physics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and quantum information and quantum simulations. Researchers whose work connects these areas, or complements existing interests, are especially encouraged to apply. Research and Expectations
Members in the group engage in a wide range of research, including quantum information and simulation, artificial Intelligence and machine Learning, and physics within and beyond the Standard Model at current and future colliders. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue an active research program that strengthens and extends current research efforts. Terms
The appointment is a nominal term of three years, contingent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance. Application process
Applications should be submitted via AJO website: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/30926 For full consideration, all materials should be received by December 15, 2025. Applications received after this date may be reviewed if positions remain available. Complete application should include
a cover letter a curriculum vitae a description of the candidate’s research interests and plans three letters of reference For further information
For further information, please contact: Prof. Ian Low Email: ilow@northwestern.edu
