Our client, an innovative, entrepreneurial manufacturing company, is looking for a high impact operations manager to help streamline operations as they enter an era of accelerated growth. The Operations Manager will be responsible for scaling output, implementing processes, and building high-performing teams across interrelated business units.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Operational Leadership : Lead and manage the daily manufacturing operations across its specialty component assembly/fabrication and precision CNC machining services.
Process Creation & Control : Design, document, and maintain efficient workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both production and subsequent quality assurance, packaging, and distribution.
Scalability & Growth Execution : Develop and execute a scaling plan to significantly increase output in response to major new contracts and market expansion.
System Integration : Lead the effective adoption, integration, and utilization of a new enterprise software (ERP) platform across all manufacturing, inventory, and supply chain functions.
Performance Management : Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)—including production rates, machine utilization, quality metrics, and on-time delivery—to ensure departmental accountability.
Continuous Improvement : Implement manufacturing methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S).
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Serve as the primary operational liaison, partnering closely with Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to align production schedules with customer expectations and delivery timelines.
Talent Development : Oversee workforce planning, manage the operational budget, and lead training and upskilling programs for CNC operators, machinists, and assembly technicians.
Compliance & Culture : Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a positive, safety-focused, and high-quality team culture.
Qualifications
7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, specifically within precision machining, high-performance automotive components, or a closely related heavy industry.
Demonstrated success in scaling production output (e.g., doubling capacity) and effectively leading diverse teams in a demanding, rapid-growth environment.
Strong hands-on experience with the implementation, management, and optimization of ERP systems and modern production planning tools. Experience with Fulcrum a plus!
Expert working knowledge of CNC machining processes, general assembly techniques, inventory management, and stringent quality control standards.
