Base Pay Range $300,000.00/yr – $400,000.00/yr
Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements and submit the EDRP application within four months of appointment.
The award amount is up to $200,000, with an eligibility period of one to five years, determined by the VA Education Loan Repayment Services office.

Applicants pending completion of required training or license requirements may be referred, but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
Veterans staff who previously met qualification standards remain eligible.
Basic Requirements
United States citizenship; non‑citizens may only be appointed when no qualified citizens are available.
Doctor of medicine or equivalent degree from a VA‑approved school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Full and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
Completed residency training approved by VA that leads to board‑certification eligibility in a core specialty.
Residency qualifications: ACGME‑approved; AOA‑approved; or non‑U.S. residency followed by at least five years of verified U.S. practice deemed satisfactory by the Medical Staff Executive Committee.
Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) may be appointed on an intermittent or fee‑basis, but must be fully licensed and are not considered independent practitioners.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Physical and Additional Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery.
Preferred: ≥ 5 years of plastic surgery experience.
Must meet physical standards for the position, including a required pre‑placement physical examination.
Drug testing required at appointment and for random testing thereafter.
Physical duties: lifting 15–44 pounds, pushing, reaching above shoulder, walking and standing for 3–5 hours, kneeling, and rapid mental and muscular coordination.
Duties
Provide clinical plastic surgery services, performing reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.
Allocate approximately 90 % of time to clinical duties and 10 % to administrative and educational roles.
Maintain competence in complex wound management, implantable materials, and tumor surgery.
Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and institutional committees.
Collaborate with the surgical team to promote high quality patient care.
