The Director of Engineering is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an overall Strategic Maintenance Management Plan focused on safe, productive, and efficient operation, quality maintenance, and validation of work activities for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire & life safety systems for the facility building infrastructure and operations. Comprehend the impact that building systems have on the workplace experience for occupants and work collaboratively to influence an optimal workplace environment. Lead the implementation, management, scheduling and planning activities that promote maintenance, efficiency, and reliability of facility assets while focusing on the facility’s well-being and occupant comfort. Provide direction and oversight of the engineering team in support of the Client as they develop guaranteed energy efficiency projects, renewable energy projects, and other energy savings related capital improvement projects. Conduct value engineering studies based on the client’s budget constraints for specific projects. Initiate and support energy conservation measures, including energy audits, and ensure energy engineering project deliverables are completed on schedule. Standardize the use of root cause analysis for deficiencies to promote proactive learning moments. Ensure strict compliance with the Able/ABM/IMF contractual agreement and Statement of Work. Develop strong client relationships based on integrity, professionalism, respect, responsiveness/urgency, and quality performance. Demonstrate strong knowledge of local building codes. Develop, track, and report KPIs that support management of contractual targets, quality performance, workload balancing, and other critical elements of the Hard Services program. Demonstrate knowledge of building systems, especially mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Promote the use of energy management and building automation systems for monitoring, initiating, managing, and reporting energy efficiency measures and building operating system optimization. Apply analytical skills to interrogate data and identify unfavorable trends, recommending continuous improvement opportunities. Provide capital and operational project support, including design reviews and recommendations on equipment selection, functional applications, and technology solutions. Collaborate with the IMF and Engineering teams to identify, introduce, and implement industry best practices and innovation. Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Minimum 10+ years of maintenance field experience, with 4-5 years of experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance and other maintenance management strategies. Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) or similar accreditations preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, verbal/written communication, planning/scheduling, problem solving, project management, and organizational abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate. Proficiency in MS Office Suite; advanced Excel skills and other analytical applications desirable. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System & Energy Management System programs, predictive equipment, and related tools. Flexibility to work outside normal hours/weekends as required.
