Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. The selected candidate will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing cyber security requirements and controls for advanced space systems. This includes risk assessment of the system of interest to attackers by applying risk analysis methodologies such as attack trees and cyber threads (drawn from security CONOPS) to identify vulnerabilities and specify mitigations. The selected candidate will also be responsible for cyber requirements management to analyze and decompose requirements to satisfy security principles: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability as well as Resilience across the system (Elements, Subsystem, Components) and associated cyber metrics. Basic Qualifications for Level 3 Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 3+ years of engineering experience OR PhD Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 1+ year(s) of engineering experience Candidate must have active SCI access with a SSBI completed within the last 5 years, at time of application, and prior to start date OR Candidate must have an active, current, or within scope DoD Top Secret clearance with a SSBI completed within the last 5 years, at time of application, and prior to start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Experience with DoD or IC Systems Security Engineering activities Knowledge of product development lifecycle and cyber-security principles as applied to the SE lifecycle Experience developing cybersecurity architectures Basic Qualifications of Level 4 Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 6+ years of engineering experience OR PhD Degree in a STEM discipline and 4+ years of engineering experience Candidate must have active SCI access with a SSBI completed within the last 5 years, at time of application, and prior to start date OR Candidate must have an active, current, or within scope DoD Top Secret clearance with a SSBI completed within the last 5 years, at time of application, and prior to start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Experience with DoD or IC Systems Security Engineering activities Knowledge of product development lifecycle and cyber-security principles as applied to the SE lifecycle Experience developing cybersecurity architectures Preferred Qualifications Active CISSP certification MS in Systems or Cyber Engineering Experience with DoD or IC Space Program(s) Experience working on a multidisciplinary team Ability and comfort to interface with all levels of employees and management Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both IC (ICD 503) and DoD (DoDI 8510.01) communities Experience with COMSEC and Key Management Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC Understanding of Anti-Tamper, TEMPEST and Nuclear Surety standards and how these relate to cybersecurity Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills Basic/Advanced Systems Administration in major COTS SW platforms Works well in a team environment Compensation and Benefits
