Amazon's Operations Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our health and safety legal team and security team. The scale and complexity of our workplace health and safety (WHS) program and security program are exceptional and rapidly growing.

You will be part of a team responsible for counseling WHS on a broad range of health and safety regulatory compliance matters and global security matters. Principal duties include developing compliance policies and procedures, providing day‑to‑day compliance guidance to the health and safety and operations teams, working cross‑functionally with other teams to ensure compliance, and resolving issues that arise during regulatory interactions including inspections. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Qualified candidates must have five or more years of legal experience advising on regulatory compliance matters, preferably in workplace health and safety or representing businesses during complex litigation in a variety of subject matters. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, pragmatic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Managing safety‑related litigation

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of legal experience

Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in‑house work

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
