BPC Action, the organization’s (c)(4) affiliate, seeks a Director to manage energy policy advocacy. The Director will work with BPC Action’s Senior Director of Energy to develop and implement congressional advocacy on energy policy for BPC’s energy team, provide political advice, and conduct outreach with Capitol Hill. Title and salary may be negotiated based on candidate experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the energy policy advocacy agenda by setting strategic vision and collaborating with BPC Action Energy Senior Director and other project directors.

Conduct proactive congressional advocacy and outreach, representing BPC Action at meetings with members and staff.

Coordinate with key stakeholders, peer organizations, and consultants to ensure effective engagement on energy policy.

Identify federal legislative developments that impact BPC or BPC Action, and manage appropriate actions.

Establish and maintain relationships with elected officials, congressional staff, and other stakeholders.

Work with BPC Action and policy teams to coordinate across areas, develop written products, and plan events.

Provide political guidance to staff on materials and events to maximize legislative opportunities.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of the federal legislative process.

Solid political skills and diplomatic working across the aisle.

Ability to manage large projects and multitask.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Self‑starter capable of independent work in a fast‑paced team.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or law degree preferred.

At least 12 years of experience on Capitol Hill or in government relations.

BPC offers a highly competitive salary ranging from $160,000 to $180,000 and generous benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, retirement contributions, paid vacation, professional development funds, and more.

Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule—employees come into the office three times a week. Exact times and schedules determined with manager.
