We are working with a growing SaaS start up who is looking to hire a Principal Product Designer immediately. As the first designer at this level, you’ll be a senior individual contributor responsible for design quality across the product suite, while also influencing design systems, process, and product strategy. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, operating autonomously, and working closely with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership.
An ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience designing digital products, a strong portfolio showcasing work across platforms, and experience designing both consumer and enterprise-grade products.
This is a full time, permanent position onsite 4 days a week at their Boston HQ (Seaport/Fort Point area). This company will be IPO‑ing in less than 3 years and will offer significant equity in addition to base and bonus.

Responsibilities
Own the design vision for key product areas and ensure a cohesive, scalable, and delightful user experience across the platform.
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to drive discovery, strategy, and execution of high‑impact initiatives.
Lead end‑to‑end design for complex workflows, from concept through delivery.
Build and maintain design systems, UI patterns, and accessibility standards.
Mentor other designers and elevate the overall quality of design craft and decision‑making.
Advocate for user‑centered design and ensure user needs are embedded in product planning.
Conduct or participate in user research, usability testing, and synthesis to inform product decisions.
Bring forward new ideas, trends, and technologies to push the boundaries of the product experience.
Must‑Have Skills
5+ years designing digital products with experience as a senior designer
A portfolio demonstrating high‑quality design solutions across web and/or mobile platforms.
Experience designing consumer and enterprise‑grade products (SaaS)
Strong command of interaction design, visual design, usability, and information architecture.
Skilled in tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to influence stakeholders and advocate for design.
Comfortable working independently, iterating quickly, and bringing clarity to ambiguous challenges.
Passion for craft, systems thinking, and building intuitive, meaningful user experiences at scale.
Nice to Have Skills
Experience working in the fintech, analytics or AI space
