Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician Rural Health Fellowship

(MD/DO) Program Overview

UNC School of Medicine offers a two‑year, first‑of‑its‑kind Rural Obstetrics & Gynecology Fellowship designed to train physician leaders who will deliver exceptional women's health care in underserved rural communities. Fellows will practice full‑scope OB/GYN care at a single UNC Health site (Rockingham or Lenoir) and receive dedicated mentorship and training. Fellowship Highlights

50% Clinical Practice: Provide comprehensive, full‑scope OB/GYN practice under the guidance of skilled partners at UNC Health Rockingham or UNC Health Lenoir. 50% Training & Mentorship: Fellows receive an identified primary mentor, a roadmap for career development, and opportunities for advanced coursework (e.g., MSCR), QI/QA, community engagement, leadership, healthcare finances, equity, or research training in rural health outcomes. MD/DO with completed OB/GYN residency Eligible for NC licensure & ABOG oral boards Strong professionalism and rural commitment Contact & Application
