Position Summary The Executive Director, Professional Standards leads a multifaceted team responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance operations across our CVS retail pharmacy and Omnicare long‑term‑care pharmacy businesses. This includes front store and pharmacy regulatory compliance operations. The leader oversees the Pricing Accuracy Officer for California, leading a team of Compliance Auditors in that state. The Professional Standards team operates at the intersection of operations, regulatory compliance, quality and safety, mitigating significant ($1B+) fiduciary, regulatory, and reputational risk. The Executive Director will develop strategic roadmaps and operational plans to achieve defined business objectives, metrics, and KPIs, and will engage senior leaders (VP – SVP) and other stakeholders to monitor trends, identify emergent risks, and drive cross‑functional action.
Required Qualifications
15+ years’ experience developing, implementing and executing programs
15+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience.
15+ years’ proven track record of influencing others with and without authority
15+ years’ experience building high‑performing, successful teams developing key talent. Demonstrated passion for bringing new leaders along and helping them realize their ability to impact the business.
15+ years’ experience actively taking on issues in a decisive manner, while keeping broader organizational dynamics in mind and empowering your leaders to obtain results through building behaviors.
15+ years’ experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics in real time, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple ‘customers’ of the business.
15+ years’ experience understanding and breaking down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time.
15+ years’ experience effectively demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
15+ years’ experience collaborating effectively across different business functions, different perspectives, and different styles of leadership
Ability to think about the impact of decisions on the broader enterprise.
Consistently demonstrates strong executive presence
Consistent record of exceptional customer service skills in increasing larger scopes of responsibility.
Thorough understanding of Federal and State regulations and laws governing the operations of our front stores and pharmacy businesses
Understanding of CVS and/or Omnicare standard operating procedures, workflow, and practice standards
Currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist
Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly, 15‑25% of time
Preferred Qualifications
Established track record of success working within CVS Health; alternatively, candidates with a track record of success working in regulatory compliance for a Fortune 100 company
4+ years of experience as a District Leader or Region Director for CVS, or in a similar field leadership role at another pharmacy
Experience in a highly competitive multi‑unit environment. Relevant sectors include retail, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
Advanced degree preferred
Education Required: BS Pharmacy or Pharm D. Preferred: Advanced Degree
Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $200,000.00 – $280,000.00. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program and includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
