DevOps Engineer – Missile Warning System Mission: Defend the U.S. with Innovative Missile Defense Solutions Join Leidos in a critical role supporting national defense through cutting-edge missile warning and defense technologies. We are seeking a talented engineer to contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical software at Cheyenne Mountain and Peterson SFB, CO. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact systems that integrate data fusion, predictive analytics, and decision support tools. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain software for missile defense systems Support CI/CD automation through scripting and pipeline optimization (Jenkins, Bamboo) Participate in agile sprint and increment testing to validate system functionality Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to document and communicate technical solutions Integrate and execute testing plans across the software development lifecycle Engage in agile ceremonies (scrum, retrospectives, planning) to provide feedback and guide team direction Build and deploy solutions aligned with industry standards and best practices Coordinate with Systems Engineering to schedule and demonstrate capabilities to customers Partner with third-party contractors and stakeholders to manage regression testing and deployment timelines Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience (additional certifications or experience may substitute for education). U.S. Citizen; Currently possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. Proficiency in C++ and Python Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and agile platforms (Jira) Skilled in developing system tools and dashboards Exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal communication abilities Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks effectively Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in associated field Experience with missile warning and defense systems Knowledge of missile warning message types Proven abilities with agile software development processes aligned with U.S. Government standards EIO 2024 At Leidos, we don’t want someone who "fits the mold"—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better.
