Overview
We are searching for a Managing Director, Senior Manager Portfolio Management for our Emerging Middle Market Business Lending Group. This role is a strong leader who will manage Underwriting and Portfolio teams and oversee the Streamline Channel. Ideal candidate will have experience managing a pooled underwriting team, strong commercial credit skills, and thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements for the commercial bank. Transformation experience in a business banking or commercial banking credit underwriting operational environment is preferred.

Responsibilities
Analyze credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing Commercial banking loans and credit solutions in an assigned portfolio of clients.
Make credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies and procedures while maintaining an exceptional client service environment.
Leverage advanced deal structuring expertise to negotiate loan terms and conditions and structure loans balancing client requirements with the bank's risk appetite and policies.
In alignment with credit qualifications, sign off on new, renewal and extension loans.
Conduct comprehensive portfolio monitoring and performance analysis including covenant compliance and client industry trends to identify risks and opportunities.
Lead the development and implementation of advanced capital allocation strategies that leverage market insights and portfolio analysis to optimize investment returns.
Oversee financial and risk analysis to make informed credit-granting decisions and assessments of portfolio health.
Handle escalated client concerns and service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Build and maintain a portfolio of strong relationships that ensures a superior client experience and drives financial performance.
Lead complex proposal development and deliver presentations to acquire clients or win business.
Advise on strategic business priorities, resource allocation, and change initiatives to ensure successful execution of key strategies across commercial banking functions.
Engage with industry peers and networks to gather competitive insights and best practices, applying this knowledge to maintain a competitive edge.
Build and maintain client relationships to ensure long-term financial performance in collaboration with Relationship Manager and business partners.
Structure and support new, renewal and extension loans aligned with client needs and bank & risk policies.
Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments of clients' credit information, for an assigned portfolio, to provide insights and make informed decisions.
Monitor the portfolio performance for assigned portfolio of Commercial Banking clients on an ongoing basis, taking corrective action when required.
Minimize bank risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines.
Serve as a point of contact for service requests, escalating issues when needed.
Support and implement initiatives to enhance service quality, acquire new business and expand client relationships.
Identify revenue and cross-selling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth and identify share of wallet opportunities.
Leverage analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluate client returns.
Manage timely and accurate data entry into the bank's systems and leverage the data to support decision-making.
Foster a culture aligned to the bank's purpose, values and strategy and role model values and behaviours in all that they do.
Ensure alignment between values and behaviour that fosters diversity and inclusion.
Regularly connect work to the bank's purpose, set inspirational goals, define clear expected outcomes, and ensure clear accountability for follow through.

Qualifications
Preferred 9+ years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
