Autonomous Systems Test & Validation Engineer
will support the testing, integration, and validation of autonomous technologies on heavy machinery. This hands-on role combines field-based machine testing with analytical data review to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of autonomous systems. The position provides opportunities to collaborate with software developers, expert operators, and customers, contributing directly to the advancement of next-generation autonomous equipment. Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Machine Testing:
Gain practical experience operating and evaluating large, heavy machinery in real-world environments. Autonomous Systems Knowledge:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the hardware, software, and end-user applications related to autonomous vehicle systems. Test & Validation Planning:
Design and execute detailed test and validation plans to assess performance, safety, and functionality of autonomous systems. On-Machine Testing:
Conduct direct testing on vehicles and machinery to verify system integration, reliability, and operational effectiveness. Data Analysis:
Collect and analyze operational data to identify performance trends and support continuous system improvement. Software Collaboration:
Work closely with software engineering teams to align technical requirements, test results, and system enhancements. Customer Engagement:
Interface with customers to gather feedback and incorporate user insights into product refinement and usability improvements. Team Collaboration:
Join a team of approximately 31 professionals, collaborating closely with on-site expert operators and software developers based in Peoria via virtual meetings. Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience with large or heavy machinery in testing or operational settings. Familiarity with autonomous systems, including both hardware and software components. Ability to plan, execute, and document testing and validation procedures. Proficiency in data analysis to drive performance optimization. Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork. Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate feedback into actionable improvements.
