We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer specializing in system networking. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications, aircraft and ground station networking and architecture, VLANs, ACLs, tunneling, bulk encryptors, including KG-250s. This role requires strong expertise in testing and troubleshooting complex networking systems. This position will support large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. The candidate will communicate with internal leadership, external subcontractors and customer teams to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. The candidate will provide input into new products/processes and implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Essential Functions
Design, develop, and integrate networking architecture for aircraft and ground station systems, ensuring robust and secure communication links. Implement and manage Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communication systems to maintain connectivity over extended distances. Configure and manage tunneling protocols to support secure data transmission across networks. Deploy and configure bulk encryption devices, including KG-250s, to ensure data security and compliance with industry standards. Architect robust and redundant network systems. Perform comprehensive testing and validation of network systems, including functional verification, performance testing, and security assessments. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineers, to define requirements and develop integrated technical solutions. Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, system specifications, test plans, and troubleshooting guides. Stay current with advancements in networking technology and industry standards to ensure continuous improvement of systems and processes. Strong knowledge and experience with Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications. Proficiency in configuring and managing tunneling protocols and bulk encryption devices, particularly KG-250s. Testing and troubleshooting complex network systems. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to networking and data security. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Able to travel 10%. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of experience with network system design, integration, and optimization of secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures across complex mission critical environments. Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of experience with network system design, integration, and optimization of secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures across complex mission critical environments. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of experience with network system design, integration, and optimization of secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures across complex mission critical environments.
