ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI) Our history and team: The mission of EMBSI spans six decades. Our team of scientists in diverse fields like epidemiology, toxicology, and environmental sciences supports ExxonMobil in meeting the world’s energy needs while keeping people and the planet safe. We opened our first facility dedicated to environmental health research in 1980 and continue to share our research with the global scientific community.

What you will do In this role you will have an impact by:

Working collaboratively with health and environmental teams to evaluate worker, consumer, and community risks associated with ExxonMobil products and operations

Analyzing scientific literature, designing and leading epidemiologic studies to inform business decisions

Envisioning and advancing new methodologies needed to evaluate the next generation of ExxonMobil products and processes

Leading technical initiatives and studies with professional organizations, trade associations, and other partners to expand scientific understanding and develop best practices

Advancing the scientific dialogue through presentations at technical conferences and publications in the peer-reviewed literature

Displaying an interest and capacity to continuously grow as an expert and leader

About you Skills and Qualifications

Broad experience and a PhD in epidemiology, public health, or a related field -or- MSc with demonstrated experience leading design, development and execution of epidemiologic studies as Primary Investigator

Experience in design, analysis, interpretation, and application of current and emerging epidemiologic methods for human health evaluation

Interest in expanding breadth and depth across occupational and environmental epidemiology, and risk assessment

Excellent project management and communication skills (written and oral), including an ability to interpret epidemiologic information for both experts and non-experts

Ability to work independently, embrace change, and collaborate with individuals with diverse backgrounds and scientific disciplines

Ability to accommodate periodic domestic and international travel

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

Familiarity with epidemiologic methods, data analytics, informatics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and statistical approaches to assess risk

Experience conducting systematic or scoping literature reviews and meta-analyses is preferred

Strong working knowledge of human health risk assessment principles

Experience with quantitative risk assessment, social determinants, life cycle approaches, air quality epidemiology, and/or cost benefit analysis is an advantage

Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and collaborate with other scientists to produce impactful work products and publications
