Job Overview
The College of Science at Oregon State University is seeking part-time Learning Assistants to facilitate student group work in various courses. This recruitment will be used to fill multiple positions with a maximum of 20-24 hours per week. Responsibilities include working with students in group learning settings (85%) and preparing for facilitation by meeting with course faculty, reviewing/completing course materials, and training (15%). Requirements
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study. Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment. Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard: High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program. Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term. Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term. Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term. Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term. Additional requirements include successful completion of disciplinary courses (e.g., PH 201, BI 221) or equivalent by the start date and acceptance as a Learning Assistant through the OSU LA Application. Working Conditions
The anticipated appointment begin date is 09/15/2025, and the appointment end date will vary. The pay rate ranges from $14.70 to $21.00 per hour, depending on the location.
