Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide out-of-house call coverage for emergency c-sections and pediatric illnesses
- Respond to emergencies within 20 minutes; 40-45 minutes for non-emergencies
- Assist with c-section births and support newborns post-delivery, including potential incubation
- Manage pediatric emergencies such as simple urinary tract infections, dehydration, asthma, and hypoxia
- Help alleviate workload for the Pediatric Director
- Average 1-2 emergency deliveries per week; approximately 1 birth every 3 days
- Care for infants and pediatric patients during urgent and emergent situations
Additional Information
- Requires 3+ years experience in c-section deliveries or emergency newborn care
- Mississippi state medical license required
