Daikin Applied Americas is hiring: Manufacturing Engineer in Phoenix

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, this role will evaluate, develop and improve manufacturing processes that supports the plant management with production and equipment issues. Location: In office, Phoenix AZ What you will do: Daikin Applied Americas, Inc. in Phoenix makes large-scale commercial HVAC solutions, commonly referred to as Modular Central Plants (MCPs) and Package Central Plants (PCPs). Each project is unique and based entirely on the customers’ individual specifications. The plants are designed, sourced, built and tested in Phoenix, Arizona and then shipped to the customer’s site. Serve as the Liaison between Production: The production team will bring issues to the ME who will work with Engineering to create a viable solution and prevent similar issues on future designs. Develop and maintain production flow: Work with Scheduling, Inventory and Production to produce the weekly and daily production schedule, keeping the project on schedule to meet customer requirements. Manage production time, staffing capabilities and the physical space of each project on the production floor to allow multiple projects to be fabricated concurrently while minimizing conflicts. Document processes: Document fabrication processes to assist training of new employees and to enable periodic review for safer, higher quality and more cost-effective methods. Organize and implement process improvements: Review the project build sequence to remove waste. Identify improvements ranging from process modifications to tooling to enhance efficiency. Manage the Capital Expenditure Request (CER) process: Source and prioritize ideas based on ROI, draft and source approved CER requests and assist in implementing approved equipment for increased efficiency. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
