Position Summary The teacher will implement appropriately aligned instructional curriculum based on Nevada Academic Content State Standards and the Lyon County School District approved curriculum. The teacher will create a positive, orderly, academic learning environment that supports school and district programs and goals, adheres to LCSD Professional Standards, and reports directly to the school site administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer district curriculum aligned with Nevada State Standards and/or Common Core State Standards.
Ensure every student has the opportunity to learn in a respectful environment.
Create and maintain a positive, orderly, academically focused instructional environment.
Develop and implement effective lessons using the LCSD lesson plan template.
Analyze student progress and provide individualized instruction and feedback.
Ensure compliance with special services such as IEPs and related mandates.
Maintain classroom safety and discipline.
Actively contribute to the School Performance Plan (SPP) process.
Ensure compliance with assessment regulations and guidelines at all times.
Maintain appropriate classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
Handle stress, interact professionally with administration, staff, parents, and community.
Integrate technology into curriculum and lessons.
Maintain accurate records in student software systems such as Infinite Campus.
Participate in other job-related duties as assigned.
Observe punctuality and attendance standards.

Demonstrate knowledge and skill to provide instruction in an elementary classroom.
Collaborate with students, parents, peers, administration, and community.
Guide learning toward curriculum and student goals.
Set clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
Employ varied instructional techniques aligned with objectives.
Collaborate with faculty and staff.
Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
Improve professional competence through continuous education and in-service.
Communicate professionally and effectively.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the site administrator/supervisor.
Requirements Education & Training : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Licenses & Certifications : Must possess or be able to obtain a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education and be certified in the relevant subject area.
Physical & Mental Requirements : Ability to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, manage classroom environments, meet other listed competency requirements. Reasonable accommodations provided for qualified individuals with disabilities.
