Senior Credit Analyst (Des Moines Metro)
Join us as a Senior Credit Analyst at VisionBank in the Des Moines metro area. We are looking for a professional with a strong background in agricultural, commercial, and consumer lending.
Job Summary Develops and analyzes all types of credit information. Prepares complete loan packages independently, including financial and tax spreads, projections, and recommendations. Serves as a review underwriter for consumer loan packages and assists with loan package preparation, appraisal reviews, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform ratio, cash flow, and collateral analyses and prepare full credit approval packages for commercial and agricultural loan requests.
Demonstrate strong independent judgment to solve problems, manage priorities, and drive results with minimal supervision.
Complete business financial statement spreads for commercial and agricultural loans.
Prepare financial and tax return spreads on individual borrowers and guarantors.
Assist in the preparation of Bank Loan Committee packets and lending committee submissions.
Assist in preparing credit reports for Board of Directors meetings.
Assist in preparing Commercial RE portfolio analysis in compliance with FFEIC guidelines.
Verify compliance with laws, regulations, and Bank Loan Policy; assist in enforcement.
Accompany loan officers on customer calls and provide underwriting feedback.
Review appraisal reports for regulatory compliance.
Assist with regulatory compliance activities such as Appraisal Ordering, HMDA Reporting, and Credit Reporting.
Collect, analyze, and compile market data for presentation to the Board.
Participate in civic activities to promote community growth and a positive image of the bank.
Adhere to all State and Federal Banking Regulations.
Serve as department lead when the Senior Credit Manager is unavailable.
Serve as a Non-Voting Member of the Loan Committee.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may assist the Senior Credit Manager as needed.

Education: Prefer a degree in finance, accounting, or business.
Experience: Minimum four years of experience in agricultural/commercial credit underwriting or loan review, with the ability to analyze personal and commercial/agricultural financial information.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, or regulations; write reports and business correspondence effectively.
Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in calculating percentages, discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret written/visual instructions.
Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and loan spreading/origination software.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Must maintain vision and balance. Regular environment with moderate noise levels.
