CLASS TITLE:

OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT I - SES

Key Responsibilities

Recommends operation policies and assists in the establishment of procedures to implement policies, achieve operational objectives, or resolve operational problems.

Monitors operation activities to meet specific measurable service objectives and assure compliance with statewide operation goals.

Investigates, assesses, analyzes and makes recommendations to resolve issues and problems.

Provides daily consultation and assistance to management and staff in the management and operation of service programs and responsibilities.

Consults with program supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems.

Performs firsthand, on‑site analysis of operational problems of service programs; serves on interdisciplinary staff teams to develop optimum resolutions and carries out the implementation of solutions.

Assists in implementing the development, refinement and testing of the Case Assignment and Management System (CAMS); evaluates CAMS performance and identifies problems, making recommendations for appropriate modifications.

Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.

Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities related to the improvement of operational and management practices.

Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to conduct fact‑finding research.

Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
