Supervise and coordinate the activities of production employees and production engineer. Assist Site Manager with plant operations. Enforce safety, environmental, and quality regulations; maintain regulatory compliance. Direct and coordinate activities of employees in production; set goals and provide performance feedback. Establish performance goals for operations (productivity, safety, quality). Coordinate with managers/supervisors to align operations across departments. Plan and establish work schedules to meet production goals. Resolve worker problems and disputes per corporate policy. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Coordinate daily production and training huddles; enforce safe behaviors. Lead safety investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed. Develop understanding of plant capabilities, process chemistries, unit operations, utilities, and lab analytics. Lead process optimization, drive continuous improvement, and set production efficiency goals. Review and improve master batch records and operating procedures. Work with production chemists and QA to maintain/ improve MBRs for new processes. Motivate employees and improve methods, equipment, product quality, or efficiency. Maintain production cycle times and operations data; prepare management reports. Coordinate with Site Manager, Maintenance Manager, Technical Manager, and QA Manager to correct defects or malfunctions; ensure quality investigations occur and action items are completed. Ensure compliance with cGMP standards. Train operators; develop ongoing training programs for required job skills. Ensure SOPs are in place and trained on; maintain PSM regulations and related procedures. Determine production capital project priorities; justify paybacks; ensure successful completion with manufacturing as owner. Oversee capital projects; serve as manufacturing representative; ensure alignment with production needs, scope, and timelines. Plan and develop new products and processes to support growth. Develop future production budgets; assist sales with pricing models based on process yields and cycle times. Serve as backup incident commander during catastrophic events. Maintain a positive culture aligned with company values; establish strong cross-department relationships. Represent operations in customer quality and safety audits and regulatory inspections. On-call availability during weekends and off-hours to solve production problems. Oversee commercialization of new processes, including manpower, procedures, and planning. Represent operations in new business evaluations including capital investment design, safety, and technology transfer. Qualifications
BS in Chemical Engineering or other engineering; or BS in Chemistry 5+ years manufacturing experience; 5+ years supervisory experience (preferred) 5+ years in ISO 9001, food/GLP/GMP regulated process manufacturing environment (preferred) 8+ years experience in at least two operations functional areas (e.g., Production, Logistics) Additional Information
