Position Summary EVgo is hiring a UI/UX Designer to help craft seamless and intuitive user experiences across our digital platforms. In this mid‑level role, you will collaborate with the design team and other departments to shape the next generation of EVgo products. Your responsibilities include conducting user research, gathering insights from interviews and surveys, and transforming them into elegant user flows, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that enhance EVgo’s customer experience.
Responsibilities
Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences across a wide range of devices and interfaces, with a heavy focus on native mobile applications.
Create a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling and design presentation skills.
Ensure every high‑fidelity design feels finished and polished.
Work closely with other designers in the team, fostering a collaborative, productive, and positive environment.
Maintain and further build design team workflows to ensure all designs are aligned with style guides and meet high‑quality standards.
Review existing design systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop recommendations.
Build a UX/UI style guide for new products while setting and maintaining UX/UI design standards.
Contribute to and build design system component libraries; maintain alignment with design team goals.
Manage yourself and others to stay on track with projects, ensuring timely delivery.
Provide clear feedback to designers, developing presentations and other design assets.
Manage design hand‑offs to developers or product teams with strong detail orientation.
Apply knowledge of HIG, Material UI, Tailwind, and other design frameworks.
Keep up with the latest design trends and quickly identify design problems to devise elegant solutions.
Work within an agile software development environment, delivering required designs on schedule. Familiar with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas.
Qualifications
At least 3 years of UI/UX design experience; preference for experience designing mobile applications (Android and iOS) and SaaS platforms.
Desired Skills
Experience designing for HMIs, web applications, and branding is a plus.
Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Miro, Dovetail, and other tools; basic HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
Experience in a startup or agency environment with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
Ability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete experiences that meet EVgo’s vision.
Extensive experience using UI and UX best practices for mobile‑first and responsive design.
Familiarity with analytical tools such as Amplitude to drive data‑driven designs.
Compensation and Benefits For positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range is $120,000 USD to $140,000 USD. Actual salary may vary based on location, experience, and other factors. This role includes a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, restricted stock units, comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance, unbounded paid time off (including parental leave), and a 401(k).
