$89,000-$110,000 annually (based on experience and licensing)

Job Summary The

Workers' Compensation Claim Supervisor

position is responsible for the investigation, adjustment, and supervision of assigned workers' compensation claims. This advanced training role may lead to a management position and is accountable for the quality of workers' compensation claim services as perceived by CCMSI clients and within our Corporate Claim Standards.

You will directly manage complex claims, partner closely with client contacts, internal executives, and outside vendors, and serve as a mentor to your team—driving both service quality and team development.

We are seeking a seasoned Insurance Claims Supervisor with direct, hands‑on experience managing and adjusting multi‑line claims within an insurance carrier, third‑party administrator (TPA), or similar environment. This is not an HR or benefits role – it requires deep technical expertise in insurance claims handling and supervision.

Responsibilities

Review, assign and provide supervision of all workers' compensation claim activity for designated claims to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions, and applicable laws.

Investigate, evaluate and adjust assigned workers' compensation claims in accordance with established claim handling standards and laws.

Reserve establishment and/or oversight of reserves for designated workers' compensation claims within established reserve authority levels.

Provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to designated claims. Negotiate any disputed bills or invoices for resolution.

Authorize and make payments of workers' compensation claims in accordance with claim procedures utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within established payment authority.

Negotiate settlements in accordance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions and state laws, when appropriate.

Assist designated claim staff in the selection, referral and supervision of designated claim files sent to outside vendors (e.g., legal, surveillance, case management).

Direct handling of designated litigated and complex claims.

Provide education, training and assist in the development of claim staff.

Review and maintain personal diary on claim system.

Supervision of all workers' compensation claim activity for specified accounts.

Ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of workers' compensation claims experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

Active adjuster’s license in at least one of the following: ME, NH, VT, CT, RI, NY, NJ, VA (ability to obtain additional licenses as needed).

Proven experience handling commercial auto liability claims.

Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Multiple adjuster licenses across listed jurisdictions.

Industry designations such as AIC, CPCU, or ARM.

Performance Metrics

Compliance with corporate and client-specific claim handling standards.

Audit results and file quality scores.

Adjuster team development and retention.

Timeliness and accuracy of claim resolutions.
