Sanitation Worker – 3rd Shift – 9:30 pm – 6:00 am
This position is based in Chicago, IL and is in a warehouse environment. The Sanitation Worker is responsible for ensuring high quality sanitation standards are met in Production, Shipping, and Distribution, upholding the highest level of product quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute plant sanitation procedures and programs daily to ensure all plant equipment is clean and safe for production.
Strictly adhere to and champion sanitation, GMPs, safety, and company standards.
Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for equipment and facility.
Oversee the proper storage, labeling, and handling/use of all cleaning supplies, chemicals, and disinfecting equipment.
Actively solve problems related to sanitation.
Follow up on work orders to ensure completion.
Monitor chemical storage/inventories and dispense the appropriate concentrations for cleaning activities.
Sweep and clean the entire warehouse to maintain required cleanliness levels.
Empty trash bins and clean trash area daily; operate trash compactor when applicable.
Maintain high‑quality sanitary conditions in a manufacturing facility by performing duties on production lines, equipment, bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, break rooms, and processing areas.
Personal Qualifications
Knowledge and awareness of manufacturing and industrial protective gear; ability to work overtime, varying start times, and weekends depending on business needs.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods, climb, perform repetitive motions, and work in a dusty, loud, and hot environment.
Act with a continuous improvement mindset and focus on improving efficiencies while decreasing waste.
Education and Formal Training
Minimum of 6 months of sanitation experience in the food industry preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
Basic knowledge of food safety and GMP principles.
Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong energy level to execute sanitation schedule and pride in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
High school diploma or GED preferred or a combination of experience.
