Putnam Public Schools . Putnam High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Coach for the Girls' Basketball program. We're looking for a passionate individual who can help foster skill development, promote teamwork, and support our student-athletes' growth both on and off the field. Become an integral part of our dynamic and evolving high school athletic program. POSITION:
Assistant Coach for Girls Basketball Major Duties & Responsibilities Support Head Coach: Assist the Head Coach with planning, organizing, and executing practices and games. Player Development: Improve student-athletes' fundamental basketball skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning. Logistics & Supervision: Help with practice/game setup and breakdown, and directly supervise student-athletes during all team activities, ensuring safety and policy adherence. Team Environment: Contribute to a positive, disciplined, and sportsmanlike team culture. Communication: Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, players, parents, and athletic staff. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, ECC, and CIAC rules and regulations. Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model, promoting academic integrity, sportsmanship, and responsibility. Administrative Tasks: Assist with inventory, equipment management, and other administrative duties as needed. Off-Season Support: Support organized off-season training, conditioning, and summer league activities as directed by the Head Coach. Minimum Qualifications CT Certification 600: Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required First Aid/CPR Certification Demonstrated knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check. Rate of Pay:
