What You’ll Do As an
Account Executive focused on the oil and gas market , you serve as the revenue engine of our business—driving growth through ambitious sales targets and dedicated customer engagement. You’ll be responsible for developing and managing key relationships with upstream operators, midstream companies, refineries, EPCs, and electrical contractors. Leveraging your deep technical understanding of our transformer and switchboard products, you’ll design solutions, prepare accurate quotes, and ensure customer satisfaction from initial inquiry through delivery. This is a high-impact role where technical acumen meets commercial strategy, and where every customer interaction helps expand Giga’s footprint across the oil and gas sector.
Where You’ll Work This role will be based in our
Houston, TX
office. You must be willing to work in the office full-time, outside of our bi-weekly WFH Fridays.
Responsibilities
Serve as the
primary point of contact
for assigned oil & gas accounts—building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers.
Develop and maintain a
deep technical understanding
of Giga’s transformer and switchboard product lines, including configurations, specifications, and differentiators.
Analyze
customer requirements, site conditions, and project specifications
to create comprehensive and accurate quotes.
Independently prepare quotes for standard products, while collaborating with Sales Engineering on complex or custom solutions.
Identify and pursue
new business opportunities
within existing accounts and the broader oil & gas market.
Own the
P&L for assigned accounts , driving pricing strategies that maximize both sales volume and profit margins.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Product, and Finance Teams to ensure smooth execution of customer projects and timely fulfillment.
Manage an accurate and up-to-date
sales pipeline in HubSpot , including detailed tracking, forecasting, and activity logging.
Stay current on
industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments
across upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.
Lead bi-weekly presentations to go-to-market leadership, providing insights on key accounts, pipeline health, and strategic initiatives.
Partner with Finance and Accounts Payable to
process POs, ensure accurate invoicing, and support timely payment collection .
Requirements
2+ years of
sales experience
in electrical distribution equipment or related industrial products.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with
oil & gas operators, EPCs, and contractors .
Strong
technical foundation
with the ability to understand and communicate electrical systems—particularly transformers and switchgear in hazardous environments.
Experience
managing long-cycle industrial sales processes
with multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency with
CRM systems
(HubSpot experience preferred).
Excellent
written and verbal communication
skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Engineering, or related field , or equivalent experience.
Willingness to
travel up to 50%
for customer meetings and site visits.
Valid
driver’s license
and ability to access industrial facilities.
Bonus Points
Experience navigating
vendor qualification processes
or
local content requirements .
Background in
hazardous location or explosion-proof electrical systems .
Familiarity with
industry standards and certifications
(e.g., API, NEC, ATEX).
Track record of
driving account growth
within established territories.
Strong
data-driven approach
to account management and sales forecasting.
